Good information practice and selection of reliable information about medicines and medical devices in today's hyperinflation of medicines and devices is a "Conditio sine qua no" for adequate and safe use of medicines in prevention, diagnostics, therapy and rehabilitation.

Accessibility of reliable information on medicines and medical devices is of great importance in today's world of rapidly increasing number of highly selective medicines and medical devices introduced into the diagnostic and therapy procedures due to current scientific and production technologies achievements.

In accessibility of current data bases the experts of the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency of Serbia provide reliable information on medicines and medical devices as well as advice to the patients and health care providers on their rational and adequate use.
In promotion of safe use of medicines and safe application of medical devices data are gathered and assessed for the integral IT system data base of the Agency. Books, reviews and other publications are edited such as Pharmacotherapeutic guidelines, Drugs register etc.

The Agency monitors data on marketing and consumption of medicines and medical devices and provides ground for pharmacoepidemiological and pharmacoeconomic analyses.
The Agency regularly provides data on consumption of medicines, authorised clinical trials, granted Marketing Authorisations, Renewals and Variations of Marketing Authorisations, withdrawals of marketed medicines and medical devices from the market, adverse reactions, rational use of medicines and medical devices etc.
Within the National Centre for Information on Medicines and Medical Devices is the Library of the Agency with the current web-site presentation of the Agency performances and information on medicine and medical devices.
