ABOUT THE AGENCY...

Medicines and Medical Devices Agency of Serbia was founded by the Law on Medicines and Medical Devices ( Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia No. 84/2004, July, 2004 ).
Government of the Republic of Serbia is acting the rights and duties as the founder of the Agency.
The Agency is defined as a legal entity with rights, obligations and responsibilities established by the Law, the regulations passed for the Law enforcement as well as the Statute.
The bodies of the Agency are the following:
Managing Board, Supervisory Board and Managing Director.

MISSION

The task of the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency of Serbia is to make quality, efficacious and safe medicines and medical devices accessible to the population of Serbia, and to promote their rational use, as well as to prevent morbidity and mortality caused by the lack of their standards or inadequate use

POLICY GOALS

- Promotion of human and animal health by providing quality, efficacious and safe medicines and medical devices,
- Capacity building of the pharmaceutical sector in Serbia,
- Good Regulatory Practice development aiming at maintenance of balanced medicines and medical devices market and enabling accessibility of medicines and medical devices to the population of Serbia,
- Further development of medicines and medical devices manufacturing and marketing in Serbia,
- Establishment of full employment of contemporary, internationally recognized standards in medicines and medical devices manufacturing, marketing and application,
- Eradication of illegal manufacturing and marketing of medicines and medical devices as well as marketing of counterfeit medicines and medical devices,
- Development of good information practice and ensuring reliable and safe information on medicines and medical devices, as well as advice on their adequate and rational use to patients and health care professionals
